“UK Agricultural policy is still developing after leaving the European Union and as it seeks ways to limit its impact on climate change. I therefore believe the information available from the Smart farming website for YFC activity and your own business development is essential reading.”
Welcome from Sarah Jackson, Head of Consultancy Services MSc MRICS TEP
The Business Development Competition at field days was always one of my highlights during my time in Cumbria YFC – probably why I became a surveyor! We now have some direction as to the shape of Agricultural Policy going forward in England and the devolved nations, but the next few years are still likely to see a significant change to farming businesses, be it farm subsidy changes, or the increasing importance and opportunity from environmental land management. A robust business plan is fundamental for the next generation of farmers, producers and growers to navigate this changing landscape, and it is important for you to have access to as much relevant information and market intelligence to help shape your business strategies and decision-making to your best advantage. Savills is pleased to support NFYFC – if we can help you at all please do contact Savills.
Enjoy using the Smart Farming Guide!
